A new low has hit our mainstream media and it is very frightening. Physical violence by American supporters of the Palestinians has broken out against American Jews this week in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and even Salt Lake City.
Here’s the headline and story on the Fox news website.
What is very scary is there is absolutely no mention of any of this in the mainstream media. Not even on their websites. I checked CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, The Washington Post, and the New York Times. In fact, the New York Times went so far as to post a story about how conflicted we American Jews are over hostilities between Israel and Palestine.
And to add to the challenge, the only way I was able to find the Fox story on Google was to add the EXACT headline along with the word “Fox”. Otherwise, it is buried in their algorithm.
Unbelievable, my very liberal parents are turning over in their graves having witnessed a similar propaganda emerge in the late 1930’s in Germany. Their news Bible was the New York Times and Walter Cronkite on CBS.
I’ve watched the mainstream media and big tech transition from a subtle imbalance since the start of the Trump Presidency into this blatant bias on steroids. I’m fearful that as I post this editorial, our livelihood on KHTS will be impacted as social media trolls call on our local advertisers to boycott our radio station. It has happened to us already several times while Trump was President.
Beyond tragic.
Editor’s Note: This editorial was written on Friday, May 21st. Since then, the American mainstream media has been pushed to report on antisemitism as outbreaks in this country have escalated. These stories have their own spin, with headlines featuring “clashes” having broken out between the two groups. In reality, and in most instances, pro-Palestinian gangs have been attacking Jews wearing yarmulkes. The media has selected not to mention this. Google continues to slant the algorithm, as they will probably do with this story.
