Assistance League Santa Clarita Relocates Resale Store To New Location

Assistance League Santa Clarita celebrated their resale store’s relocation on Sunday with an Open House event to kick off their grand reopening scheduled for later this week.

Serving the Santa Clarita community for over 30 years, Assistance League Santa Clarita moved to a new location to continue touching the lives of Santa Clarita residents on a larger scale, according to Assistance League volunteers.

The store has moved to a larger building at 26045 Bouquet Canyon Road in Santa Clarita to incorporate a range of products from clothing to kitchenware.

“We wanted to be building owners, so we’ve been in the process of looking for 25 years. We finally came across something that we thought we could make work and this is the building,” Durinda Evanoff, past President of Assistance League Santa Clarita said. “We’re so excited. It took a whole village to make it happen.”

Assistance League Santa Clarita manages a resale store that is the primary source of funding for their philanthropic programs including Operation School Bell, Icare For Kids, Fostering Success, Teddy Bear Patrol, Family Ties, Emergency Community Assistance and UkeALadies, according to Assistance League officials.

“Our newest program, which is Fostering Success, is geared towards COC students who have aged out of foster care but they’re really trying to make themselves successful,” Gayle Abril-Nolet, president of Assistance League said. “After they go shopping, they usually leave a little comment card and one comment that we read said ‘I have my first big job interview and I think with these new clothes, I’ll get the job.’ These are the ways that we touch lives.”

The grand opening of Assistance League’s new location is scheduled for May 18.

“With the completion of our permanent new store on Bouquet Canyon, we look forward to many years of serving our community,” Abril-Nolet said. “We take pride in the fact that we are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization.”
