Arson Suspect Arrested In Connection To Brush Fire In Santa Clarita

An arson suspect was arrested Wednesday after allegedly sparking a three acre brush fire in Santa Clarita, officials said. 

Around 7 p.m. Wednesday, a brush fire, dubbed the Valencia Fire, was reported on Bouquet Canyon Road and Valencia Boulevard in Saugus, according to Melanie Flores, a dispatch supervisor with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. 

Upon arriving on scene, crews reported three spot fires spreading to heavy brush, according to Flores.

“The case is still under investigation,” Detective Scott Schultz said. “One individual was arrested.”

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. 

The suspect is facing at least one count of arson, according to Arson investigators.
