Officers with the California Highway Patrol, (CHP) Newhall Area Office arrested an armed suspect who fled the scene of a Santa Clarita crash Monday.
Around 1:45 p.m. Monday, CHP officers received reports of a traffic collision on The Old Road near Hillcrest Parkway in Castaic, said Officer Josh Greengard, spokesperson for the CHP Newhall Area Office.
“The suspect took foot bail after the collision,” Greengard said.
Initial reports were that the suspect may be armed with a knife, and was being uncooperative with officers commands according to officials.
At 2:25 p.m., the suspect was taken into custody, according to officials.
