Armed Man Arrested After Pointing ‘Large Knife’ At Victim, Fighting With Deputies In Santa Clarita

An armed man was arrested Tuesday evening after allegedly pointing a “large knife” at a person and fighting with deputies in Santa Clarita.

Around 7 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to the Del Taco on the 26700 block of Bouquet Canyon Road in Valencia regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“It was reported a male adult pointed a knife at a victim,” Arriaga said.

Upon arrival, deputies observed a man matching the suspect description, according to Arriaga.

While deputies were attempting to detain the person of interest, he became uncooperative and a brief struggle ensued.

“A short period later, deputies, with the help of assisting units, were able to detain the suspect without further incident,” Arriaga added.

Once deputies had the suspect detained, they learned while the victim was exiting the drive-thru, he observed the suspect holding a large knife, according to Arriaga.

“The suspect then pointed the knife towards the victim and began walking towards the victim’s vehicle multiple times,” Arriaga said.

Jeffery Baked was arrested for assault on an executive officer and brandishing a knife, both felonies, Arriaga added.

Baked was arrested and released several hours later on a citation to appear at court in four months, according to Arriaga.
