The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced a 55-hour weekend full closure of westbound Interstate 210 in Sylmar for paving work this Friday.
On Friday, all lanes of the westbound 210 Freeway are scheduled to be closed for paving work in Sylmar.
The closures are as follows:
Friday, Jun. 25 at 10 p.m. through 5 a.m. Monday, Jun. 28
- Full closure of westbound I-210 between Interstate 5 (I-5) and Roxford St.
- Westbound Roxford Street on-ramp
- Westbound Yarnell Street on and off-ramp
- Westbound I-210 to I-5 Interchange
Motorists are encouraged to use State Route 118 (SR-118) to I-5 as an alternate route to reach their destinations.
Residents and businesses near the freeway may experience noise, vibrations and dust due to construction activities, representatives said.

Caltrans reminds drivers to be “Work Zone Alert” and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
Closures are set to occur only if weather permits, according to a statement from Caltrans.
The closure is part of a series of eight 55-hour closures that will be conducted on I-210 in the San Fernando Valley.
The work on the 210 is part of a $135.5 million project repaving and upgrading the 210 from Wheatland Avenue to the I-5, officials said.
The project is funded through Senate Bill 1 (SB1), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, representatives said.
