14 Freeway Traffic Collision Blocks All Southbound Lanes In Santa Clarita 


A traffic collision on the 14 Freeway in Santa Clarita resulted in all southbound lanes being temporarily blocked Saturday afternoon, officials said. 

UPDATE (5:14 p.m.): All lanes on the 14 Freeway are open after emergency responders worked to clear the wreckage, according to CHP incident logs.

Around 3:20 p.m. Saturday, emergency responders received reports of a traffic collision on the southbound 14 Freeway at Soledad Canyon Road and Shadow Pines, according to Ed Pickett, a dispatch supervisor with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. 

“Two critical trauma patients were transported,” said Pickett. “We had reports that someone was ejected, but we don’t know how many.”

The crash involved two vehicles, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) incident logs. 

Information on the extent of the injuries sustained was not available as of 4 p.m. Saturday. 

All southbound lanes of the 14 Freeway were blocked for an unknown duration as of 4 p.m. Saturday, according to CHP incident logs.
