A Whites Canyon brush fire broke out in Canyon Country Tuesday prompting a response from firefighters.
UPDATE (2:50 p.m.): Firefighters cleared all equipment off of the train tracks, allowing the Antelope Valley Metrolink line to be able to re-open, according to officials.
The brush fire was first reported to firefighters around 1:45 p.m. on Whites Canyon Road and Via Princessa in Canyon Country, said Leslie Lua, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“Our units arrived on scene and reported a 10-by-10 spot in medium brush,” Lua.
There are no structures threatened at this time, according to Fire officials.
Firefighters have requested that Metrolink temporarily close down both directions of the Antelope Valley Line, according to Lua.
