Two possible murder suspects were detained Friday morning at a Santa Clarita Valley gas station.
UPDATE (2:30 p.m.): Deputies have taken one murder suspect into custody after he allegedly shot and killed a 19-year-old pregnant woman, Tatyanna Lopez, in the City of Merced Sunday, according to a statement from the Merced Police Department.
A 20-year-old man was also injured in the shooting, and was taken to a trauma hospital with life threatening injuries, the statement read.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s deputies were made aware that the suspect was possibly in the Castaic area, where two individuals were located, according to officials.
Although two individuals were detained, one person was released, and the other suspect was taken into custody, said, Sgt. Brian Shrieves, with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Detective Bureau.
The suspect is awaiting to be transported back to Merced, according to officials.

Around 9:50 a.m. Friday, deputies located two individuals at the Pilot Gas Station in the 31600 block of Castaic Road in Castaic possibly wanted for murder, said Sgt. Keith Greene with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“We are still waiting to hear their identities, but we do have two detained, possibly for murder,” Greene said.
The alleged murder that the suspects may be wanted for did not occur in Santa Clarita, Greene said.
