Santa Clarita Residents Waiting For Second Dose Encouraged To Keep COVID-19 Vaccination Card

Santa Clarita Valley residents getting a COVID-19 vaccine are being encouraged to keep track of their vaccination cards.

When Santa Clarita Valley residents receive the COVID-19 shot, they are issued a vaccination card, which is one way health officials can keep track of what type of vaccine each person receives as well as keep track of lot numbers, according to officials.

However, if an individual receives their vaccine and misplaces their card, their information is not lost, according to officials.

If someone gets their first COVID-19 vaccine dose at a Los Angeles County vaccine site and misplaces their card, they can go to any County vaccine site and have their information pulled up, said Michelle Vega, a spokesperson for Kathryn Barger’s office.

However, officials are urging residents to keep track of the card they were given during the first dose.

Residents who get their first shot in  L.A. County are not able to go to non-County vaccine sites, Vega said.

On Monday, April 19, College of the Canyons opened as an L.A. County vaccine site, replacing the Six Flags Magic Mountain vaccine site.

The vaccination site is located in Lot 7 of COC, near the football stadium.

The vaccine site is opened seven days a week by appointment as well as walk-ins, according to officials.

Santa Clarita residents wanting to schedule an appointment can do so by clicking here.

To learn how to make an appointment, what verifications you will need to show at your vaccination appointment, and much more, visit the L.A. County Vaccination website (English) or Vacunate Los Angeles website (Spanish).

Vaccinations are always free and open to eligible residents and workers regardless of immigration status.
