Santa Clarita Man Fires Off Warning Shot During Argument, Arrested On Several Felonies

A Santa Clarita man is facing several felonies after he allegedly brandished a firearm during a verbal argument and fired off a warning shot Saturday.

Around 4:40 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the 21900 block of Moveo Drive in Canyon Country regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Upon arrival, deputies detained a male adult matching the suspect description at a residence on the 21900 block of Moveo Drive,” Arriaga said.

During the deputies investigation, they learned during a verbal argument with the victims, the suspect brandished a firearm and fired a warning shot into the air while making verbal threats, Arriaga said.

“The male detained was positively identified by a witness during a field identification,” Arriaga said.

Spiro Kamar, 35, from Santa Clarita, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm in public and criminal threats, all felonies, Arriaga added.

Kamar was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with bail set at $50,000, according to arrest records.

No parties were injured due to the incident, according to Arriaga.
