The Santa Clarita Chamber of Commerce (SCV Chamber) and SchlickArt and Photo have partnered together to create a photo exhibit displaying a gallery of photos depicting the first 12 weeks of quarantine in the Santa Clarita Valley which began approximately one year ago.
Entitled “The 12 Months of Quarantine”, the exhibit is set to be housed at the Westfield Valencia Town Center on the first floor at Sears Court and is scheduled to open for public viewing Monday May 3 through Sunday May 31.
“The 12 Months of Quarantine was just one of the ways the SCV Chamber worked to keep our community spirit uplifted during one of the toughest times any of us had dealt with,” stated John Vance, chair of the SCV Chamber Board of Directors. “We were proud to work with SchlickArt Photography and Video as they, in a safe manner, captured what some of us spent our time doing during the quarantine and now we’re excited to share the pictures with everyone.”
At the beginning of the Stay-At-Home order, the SCV Chamber enlisted the help and talents of SchlickArt to document those unprecedented times, featuring local residents and how they spent the beginning of quarantine.
Residents featured include individuals, couples, families, business owners, and more.
The beneficiaries of this exhibit are 13 local non-profits chosen by the exhibit’s sponsors, according to officials.
Each of the chosen non-profit charities are set to receive funds in a check-presentation ceremony at a later date.
“We are so proud of our community and their resilience through the pandemic,” said Ivan Volschenk, managing Partner at Evolve Business Strategies, which manages the SCV Chamber of Commerce. “SchlickArt gives so much to our Non-Profit community and we couldn’t have been happier to partner with them on this fun project during such a difficult time for all of us. We thank Westfield for their continued support and look forward to the community coming to view the exhibit and do some local shopping.”
The exhibit is scheduled to be available for public viewing starting Monday May 3 and will close at the end of the month on Sunday May 31.
“Community members are encouraged to check out the photo exhibit and reflect back during the stay at home order, one year ago,” Chamber officials said.
