A Santa Clarita brush fire broke out Monday in Canyon Country, prompting a response from firefighters.
UPDATE: (1:25 p.m.) Forward progress on the fire has been stopped at one and a half acres in size, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials.

The brush fire, dubbed the Skyline Fire, was reported on Monday around 12:50 p.m., on West Sierra Highway near Skyline Ranch Road in Canyon Country, said Franklin Lopez, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
As of 12:57 p.m., the fire is approximately two and a half acres with no structures threatened, according to Fire officials.
