A Newhall brush fire near the railroad tracks caused a temporary pause on the Metrolink Antelope Valley Line in Santa Clarita on Saturday afternoon.
Around 3:00 p.m. Saturday, emergency responders received reports of a brush fire on the 24900 block of Railroad Avenue near the railroad tracks in Newhall, according to Dispatch Supervisor Miguel Ornelas with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“It was a 20 by 20 spot,” Ornelas said. “They’re only going to be out there for about 20 minutes.”
The fire caused a temporary shutdown of the Metrolink Antelope Valley Line between the Santa Clarita and Newhall Stations, according to Metrolink officials.

As of 3:44 p.m. Saturday, Antelope Valley Line 268 to Los Angeles experienced a delay of 15 minutes due to fire department activity near the tracks, according to Metrolink officials.
