One Detained After Deputy Involved Fight In Canyon Country


One person was detained Tuesday night after allegedly fighting a deputy in Canyon Country.

Update: A “use of force” investigation is underway after video of the deputy-involved fight was posted to social media Tuesday.

“Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station is aware of a video circulating on social media, involving deputies from the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station, read a Tuesday Facebook post from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “A use of force investigation is currently ongoing. ”

Original story: Just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, emergency responders received reports of a deputy-involved fight near an apartment complex near Jakes Way and Daniel Drive in Canyon Country, according to a spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD).

“They just arrived on scene,” the LACoFD official said around 6:55 p.m.

One person has been detained in relation to the incident, according to officials on scene.

There is no information as to the extent of any injuries sustained due to the incident available as of Tuesday evening.
