New Chief Executive Named For Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center

On Thursday it was announced that Nicholas Lymberopoulos is set to be the new chief executive of Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center after an extensive search.

“We are extremely fortunate that a highly respected, experienced and qualified internal candidate such as Nick has been appointed chief executive,” said Victor Jordan, health network executive and chief operating officer for Providence Southern California.

With more than 28 years of experience as a healthcare leader, primarily in finance and operations, Lymberopoulos is expected to bring that experience to the medical center. Lymberopoulos graduated from St. Mary’s College of California with bachelor’s degrees in business administration and in economics and earned his MBA from Pepperdine University.

He currently serves as chief operating officer at Tarzana Medical Center.

“I’m deeply grateful for this opportunity to serve our hospital, our caregivers and our community,” Lymberopoulos said. “Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana is fast becoming a destination hospital as we advance our level of care to new heights and I’m humbled to lead that growth.”

The extensive search and review process that included hospital board members, medical staff and regional and local leadership finally came to an end when Lymberopoulos proved to be the best candidate, according to Cedars-Sinai President and CEO Thomas M. Priselac.

“Nick Lymberopoulos brings a deep background with the medical center and a distinguished record of success to this critical leadership role,” said Priselac.

Lymberopoulos’ new role takes effect March 28 and until then Bernard Klein M.D., chief executive of Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills is serving as interim chief executive.

Lymberopoulos is expected to be charged with leading the $644 million reimagined campus construction and renovation project that includes a new patient tower and enlarged emergency department. He also is directing the hospital’s management of the COVID-19 crisis.
