Different Ways To Clean Stains From Concrete Floors

Once applied, colored concrete can’t be easily removed as you could do to your bare garage floor. You can’t use simple cleaning agents like the typical ammonia-, bleach- and acid-based cleaners. When you use these agents, they’ll ruin the concrete’s coloring.

Removing concrete stain requires that you be gentle but effective. Apart from using soap, it would be best to have a few other household products, like baking soda and coconut oil.

Sealing and waxing regularly keep your floor resistant by creating a barrier between grime and concrete. However, you should skip the sealants and waxes if you have polished concrete but instead re-polish your floor after every seven years.

Remove All Greasy Stains

Suppose you have been maintaining your floor by applying grease on top of your floor. In that case, you must remove it clean before removing any coloring. Use soap and water to remove the fat because it doesn’t sink too far into the concrete.

Ensure you remove all marks on the epoxy flooring Los Angeles including spilled marinara, tracked-in mud, and scuff marks from moving furniture. If you don’t know the type of color used on the concrete floors, don’t use a potent bleaching agent but stick to a neutral floor cleaning soap and water.

Before washing, make sure you mix thoroughly and use a soft-bristled brush to scrub until there is no more stain. Use non-bleach dish soap if you understand the floor’s finish and regular. Pour some cool distilled water and scrub.

Using dish soap fastens the removal of grease more quickly. However, this approach is not safe for all floors. Once you are through, rinse thoroughly with clean water, and use a soft dry cloth until you make sure the floor dry.

Handling Etching Cases

Accidents are inevitable, and anything can happen when using acid-based products or spilling acidic to clean floors.  When you are cleaning your floor, and accidentally beverages and foods get on the floor, it can lead to the concrete’s finish. As a result, it may leave behind an unsightly stain. When this happens, it is something you don’t clean up.

However, you are advised to call the contractor who enacted your floor or contact a local expert to help you sand away the damage. The expert is likely to refinish the exposed or uncolored concrete to match the rest of the space. Don’t try to tackle this project independently without an expert’s instruction since you will be worsening the situation.

Use clean Rug Pads free from stains

You may find it challenging to slip rugs across plastic and synthetic mats. However, they will leave behind a stain of their own.

As a result, there will be moisture deposits becomes trapped between the mat and the concrete. As a result, you will notice some whitish stain on the floor. To avoid this, you need to remove the stain using a non-acidic calcium deposit cleaner to rinse the floor and swap out plastic mats for linen products.

But you should note that it is not advisable to use acidic cleaners on colored concrete. It means that you may still have some whitest residue left behind. However, the marks will be less noticeable than before, and they will be hidden under the rug.

Dissolve Sticky stains

When using Store-bought oil-based degreasers, you should be careful because they aren’t recommended for most decorative concrete floors. They have a high risk because they contain flammable solvents and some percentage citrus-based oils.

However, you can make your version of the cocktail at home to remove any pesky stains. The materials you need could be pine sap or chewing gum residue. Use two parts baking soda and mix with 2 part coconut oil, but you can use a pinch of cooking oil if you don’t have coconut oil on hand.

If you are working on the epoxy flooring Los Angeles, Use a plastic putty knife or the edge of an old credit card to scrape off as all the stain as you can. Then apply the stain remover. Rinse and wait about 10 minutes, and then buff it into the concrete floor to remove the residue. Be vigilant to see if the stain proves persistent so that you can add more of the mix and scrape with the plastic as much as need be. Once everything is done, rinse with water and dry the concrete floor.
