Canyon Country Man Killed In Suspected Acton DUI Crash Identified, GoFundMe Set Up

The Canyon Country man killed in a suspected DUI Sierra Highway crash in Acton Wednesday evening has been identified, and a GoFundMe has been set up to pay for his funeral service.

Trevor Calhoun, 19, of Canyon Country was killed in the crash, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical-Examiner’s Office.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help his family pay for his funeral service, according to page organizer Holly Davidson.

“We are raising funds to have a proper service and and celebration of life in his honor.  Any money that is donated will go towards these services,” wrote Davidson.

Around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision on Sierra Highway near Mountain Springs Road in Acton, said Monique Mischeaux, spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol Antelope Valley Area Office.

A Toyota Corolla, which Calhoun was a passenger in, was traveling south on Sierra Highway and collided with the dirt shoulder, resulting in the vehicle going across all lanes, according to Mischeaux.

A vehicle traveling north on Sierra Highway collided with the passenger side of the Toyota, according to emergency officials.

“When our units arrived, they reported three people were trapped,” said Leslie Lua, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Calhoun sustained fatal injuries, while the driver of the Corolla was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, according to CHP officials.

The driver of the Corolla, 19-year-old Emily Dominguez of Santa Clarita, was arrested for felony DUI causing death, according to Mischeaux.

“The involvement of alcohol is suspected at this time and is still under investigation,” Mischeaux said.
