The Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency (BCSH) of California is working on bringing the California COVID-19 Rent Relief program online to assist residents across the state, including Santa Clarita.
The California COVID-19 Rent Relief online program is set to assist income eligible households who need financial assistance for unpaid or future rent and utilities. BCSH is set to begin taking applications next week, officials said.
“We have engaged nearly 70 Local Partner Network organizations to work directly with Californians who may not have access to the internet or who will need assistance to complete their applications once the application portal goes live,” said Russ Heimrich, Deputy Secretary of Communications at BCSH.
According to officials at BCSH, they are already working with renters and landlords to prepare them for the relief program.

BCSH has reportedly begun a comprehensive outreach and education campaign to ensure that Californians know that the rent relief is on the way. A press briefing about the program is set to be held early next week.
