Towsley Canyon Injured Hiker Hospitalized

An injured hiker was transported from Towsley Canyon to the hospital early Sunday afternoon.

Just before 12:30 p.m., first responders from Los Angeles County Fire Department Stations 73 and 124 were dispatched to Towsley Canyon Road in Newhall after calls were received of an injured hiker in the area, according to Supervisor Bernard Peters with the Fire Department.

“We had ordered a copter to the scene,” Peters said. “There was a hiker about a mile up. The copter was cancelled, and there was no hoist.”

The hiker was transported by ground to a nearby trauma center. The severity of the hiker’s injuries were not made public Sunday afternoon.
