Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station shut down Soledad Canyon Road as they detained a stolen vehicle suspect at gunpoint.
Just before 7:45 p.m. Thursday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station performed a felony traffic stop on Soledad Canyon near Camp Plenty Road, according to Sergeant Jepson with the station.
“While the investigation is still ongoing, we believe the vehicle to be stolen,” Sergeant Jepson said. “We have one in custody and are still on scene.”
The closure of the road was not set for a known duration during the traffic stop. However, officials say that motorists should not have to wait long for the roadway to be cleared.
