Real Life Church has plans to hold a Christmas drive-thru extravaganza in Valencia next week, with over a dozen holiday-themed zones and special surprises.
The drive-thru, which is set to be held at Real Life Church in Valencia and feature several holiday-themed areas, is open to all members of the community free of charge, and guests are encouraged to bring canned foods to be donated to Santa Clarita Valley Grocery.
“We decided to host the Christmas drive-thru because we believe that the church should love and serve the city, and we want to give people a safe and fun way to experience some joy this holiday season,” said Kevin Finkbiner, pastor at the Valencia campus.
The is planned to consist of 15 different stations all across the Real Life Church property, with characters from “Frozen,” multiple Santa zones including live reindeer, a nativity scene, a Grinch lurking in his zone and a whole lot more. RLC also plans to have their band singing favorite Christmas songs for everyone to enjoy.
Finkbiner also encouraged visitors to arrive early, as a limited number of special gifts would be available for guests.
“We will be giving out gift bags with Christmas treats — all pre-packaged — to the first 1,200 cars, as well as give people a chance to enter into a raffle to win tickets to Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Holiday In The Park Experience,” he said.
In addition, volunteers in masks and gloves will be collecting food donations at the toy shop. Either roll down your window or open your trunk and the volunteers will come and grab the canned food.
The event is one of several socially distanced celebrations that Real Life Church has held in 2020.
“We generally try to have some sort of community event leading up to Christmas. We also look for ways throughout the year to serve our community,” said Finkbiner. “This year for example we held themed movie nights outside in our amphitheater around Halloween and Thanksgiving.”
The drive- thru is open to all members of the community, who are asked to observe health guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Finkbiner said.
“We want to make sure that everyone is safe and that we’re following COVID protocols,” said Finkbiner. “This year we are working on creative and fun ways to protect the public and our station hosts while still having a wonderful experience.”
The event is set to take place at Real Life Church in Valencia on Friday, Dec. 18 and Saturday, Dec. 19 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
