Convicted Felons Arrested After Being In Possession Of Stolen Mail

Two convicted felons were arrested on Wednesday morning on a slew of charges after they reportedly were seen stealing mail, officials said.

On Wednesday morning, deputies responded to a call for service on Sycamore Creek Drive in Santa Clarita, regarding people acting suspiciously in a vehicle checking vehicle door handles and mailboxes, said Candice Gonzales, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“When deputies located the suspicious vehicle, they initiated a traffic stop pending a mail theft investigation,” Gonzales said.

After deputies contacted the driver and front passenger, they discovered the driver did not have a driver’s license in her possession, and in plain view was a pile of mail, a black lug wrench with taped ends resembling a “billy club” on the floorboard of the front passenger’s feet, according to the spokesperson.

“Deputies escorted both occupants out of their vehicle pending a mail theft and driving without a driver’s license investigation,” Gonzales said.

It was ultimately discovered the mail belonged to various residents near the location, and both suspects were convicted felons in unlawful possession of a billy club, stun gun, tear gas and illegal narcotics inside their vehicle.

Geneva Cash, 33, of Santa Clarita, and Aaron Reynolds, 30, a transient, were arrested for multiple felony charges including felony mail theft and weapons charges as well as narcotic charges, according to arrest records.

Both were arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail.
