Two Arrested Months After Assaulting Victim During Traffic Collision

Two assault suspects were arrested Wednesday after they allegedly assaulted a victim during a verbal argument after a traffic collision in August.

On Friday Aug. 6, deputies responded to Sierra Highway and Rainbow Glen Drive in Canyon Country regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call for service, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Upon arrival, deputies learned two male adults physically assaulted the victim during a verbal argument after a minor traffic collision,” Arriaga said. “The suspects fled in their vehicle.”

Deputies searched the area, however were unable to locate the suspects at the time of the incident, according to officials.

“The victim sustained minor injury and was transported to a local hospital for further medical evaluation,” Arriaga said.

Through investigative work, detectives were able to identify the suspects.

“A warrant was issued for the two suspects,” Arriaga said.

On Wednesday, Dimitry Ramirez, 19, from Canyon Country, was arrested at his residence on the 28000 block of Sarabande Drive. His associate, Renato Villareal turned himself in to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, Arriaga said.

Both suspects were booked for felony assault with a deadly weapon, Arriaga added.
