A Canyon Country shooting sent one person to the hospital early Tuesday morning after the suspect “accidently shot his wife.”
Around 3:20 a.m. Tuesday, first responders received reports of a shooting on the 14400 block of Colorado Place in Canyon Country, said Franklin Lopez, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Deputies responded after a man “accidently shot his wife,” said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The victim sustained a gun shot wound to her upper torrso, Arriaga said.
“One person was transported to the hospital by (paramedics),” Lopez said.
The condition of the patient is unknown as of Tuesday afternoon, according to Fire officials.
Jamil Bazzy was arrested on a felony charge for assault with a deadly weapon, and other charges, Arriaga said.
