Domestic Violence Increases In Santa Clarita Weekend Arrests


Over the weekend, Santa Clarita Valley arrest logs reported a total of 13 bookings, down slightly from last week’s 19, according to law enforcement officials.

Between Friday Nov. 19 and Sunday Nov. 21, a dip to 13 arrests, down from last weekend’s 19, was reported in Santa Clarita by deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Office.

Nine out of this weekend’s 13 bookings were reported as felonies, with the other four listed as misdemeanors, according to officials.

Only four arrests this weekend were listed as drug or alcohol-related, with only two reported DUI’s, according to booking logs.

Both reported DUI arrests were listed as misdemeanors, according to officials.

Some notable arrests this weekend included three instances of domestic violence via corporal injuries on a spouse, cohabitant, etc., a higher number than most weeks, as well as credit card or ID fraud and false imprisonment, according to arrest logs.

Only five out of 13 reported bookings were of individuals with addresses outside of the Santa Clarita Valley, according to officials.
