10th Grader Detained After Making Threats At Hart High School

A 10th grader was detained on criminal threats after making threats against Hart High School which mentioned Wednesday’s date.

The 10th grader who allegedly wrote a threat in the restroom of Hart High School has been detained, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“A 10th grader was detained on suspicion of criminal threats,” Arriaga said.

The student was transferred and booked at Sylmar Juvenile Hall, according to Arriaga.

A case was submitted to the Sylmar Juvenile Hall District Attorney’s Office by COBRA detectives for consideration.

On Friday the student wrote a statement in the restroom making threats after reportedly being bullied.

The message said the attack would occur on Wednesday Sept. 29, 2021, according to officials.

However, on Monday, the student who made the threat turned himself into law enforcement, according to officials with the William S Hart High School Union School District.

Detectives investigating the case said the threats made were not “genuine threats.”

Despite the threat mentioning today’s date, Hart High School remains open and has a heavier police presence.

Hart District officials are encouraging all students throughout the District to continue to say something, if they see something.
