Two suspects were detained at gunpoint Tuesday evening behind a Santa Clarita motel in relation to an alleged stolen car incident in Canyon Country, officials said.
Around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, deputies were alerted to a stolen vehicle behind the Super 8 Motel by Wyndham on the 17000 block of Sierra Highway in Canyon Country, according to Lt. James Royal with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“Deputies are initiating a stolen car investigation,” Royal said. “Two suspects were detained near the motel and are still investigating the scene.”
Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station approached the vehicle with guns drawn before detaining both the driver and passenger, according to Royal.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
