Person Reported Trapped In Santa Clarita Structure Fire

A person was reported trapped in a Santa Clarita structure fire Tuesday afternoon.

UPDATE (5:45): After two extensive searches of the building, no persons were trapped in the building, according to fire officials.

Around 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, first responders received reports of a structure fire in the William S. Hart District Maintenance Building on the 21000 block of Centre Point Parkway in Canyon Country, said Melanie Flores, a dispatch supervisor for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“We have a report of a party inside,” Flores said. “They are working on confirming that.”

When crews arrived on scene, they reported a fire inside the building, according to officials.

Due to reports that a person may be trapped inside, fire officials requested additional units  to respond to assist in the rescue of the individual and fire fight.

At 5:20 p.m. crews have called knock down on the fire, but are still searching for the person who may be trapped.
