Santa Clarita schools within the Newhall School District (NSD) have announced the expected implementation of new administrators for the upcoming school year and foreseeable future.
One of the updates to the school district is said to be Stevenson Ranch Elementary School’s principal of six years, Chad Rose, according to officials.
Rose has been hired to serve in a new role as the Learning Recovery and Instructional Tech Support Administrator, expected to begin July 1, 2021.
Prior to his time serving as Stevenson Ranch’s principal, Rose was principal at Meadows Elementary School for nine years, and started out in the NSD as an assistant principal at Dr. J. Michael McGrath Elementary School.
Before entering the NSD, Rose was an Instructional Specialist in technology in LAUSD and oversaw an Online Teacher Training Program for Los Angeles County Office of Education.
With the experience and background in both technology and education, Rose was the “natural” choice for this new position, according to NSD officials.
“Chad is a natural fit for this new position and will be a key asset in supporting our efforts around learning recovery and integrating technology,” said Superintendent Jeff Pelzel.
Scheduled to take over the now vacant position of principal for Stevenson Ranch Elementary School is Tim Lankford, most recently the principal of Wiley Canyon Elementary School.
Lankford has been in the world of education for 26 years, working for five years as principal of Newhall Elementary School in addition to his time at Wiley Canyon.
“Tim’s experience, deep understanding of teaching and learning, and use of assessment data will continue the tradition of excellence at Stevenson Ranch Elementary,” Pelzel said.
Posed to take over the position of principal at Wiley Canyon Elementary School is Dr. Stacy Williamson, who has previously been involved with the Palmdale Unified School District where she has served as a principal, assistant principal, classroom teacher, Learning Support teacher and General Education Teacher.
“We are thrilled to be welcoming Dr. Williamson to the Newhall School District. Her passion for the students came through loud and clear during the interview process. She is a perfect fit for the Wiley Canyon community,” Pelzel added.
