A motorcyclist was hospitalized Sunday following a high-speed 14 Freeway pursuit in Santa Clarita, officials said.
Around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, officers with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) attempted to pull over a motorcycle on the 14 Freeway in Canyon Country, according to CHP Officer Moises Marroquin.
CHP initiated a pursuit of the motorcycle that reached speeds over 100 miles per hour, according to Marroquin.
“The high-speed motorcycle crashed and the suspect initiated foot-bail,” Marroquin said.

The motorcycle crashed near Escondido Canyon Road in Agua Dulce after traveling northbound on the 14 Freeway at high rates of speed, according to Marroquin.
As a result of the crash, the suspect fled the scene on foot, but was shortly apprehended, according to Marroquin.
“He was later transported to a nearby hospital,” Marroquin said.
Information regarding the extent of the injuries sustained is not available as of 11 a.m. Sunday.
No information has been released regarding the reason for the initial pursuit.
