A motorcyclist was airlifted to a nearby hospital Monday after a 5 Freeway crash north of Santa Clarita.
Around 1:50 p.m. Monday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision on the northbound 5 Freeway near Smokey Bear Road in Gorman, said Miguel Ornelas, a dispatch supervisor for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“It was an auto collision with a motorcycle,” Ornelas said.
As a result of the crash, a helicopter was requested to airlift the motorcyclist to the hospital, according to Fire officials.
All northbound 5 Freeway lanes near Smokey Bear Road were briefly closed to allow the helicopter to land.
The motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital in unknown condition, according to Fire officials.
