Congressman Mike Garcia, R-Santa Clarita, announced the official launch of the 2021 Congressional App Challenge for middle and high school students Friday.
The 2021 Congressional App Challenge aims to challenge all middle and high school students in California’s 25th District to create and submit their own original app for a chance to have their app displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building as well as on the official House of Representatives’ website.
“I am excited to announce the official launch of the 2021 Congressional App Challenge. As a member of the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee, I recognize the importance of supporting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) studies for our children,” said Garcia in a statement Friday. “They are the future of our great nation and supporting their advancements in STEM will help further technological advancements.”

To register for the Congressional App Challenge, students can visit the Challenge website here. The deadline for students to submit their app online is scheduled to be November 1, 2021.
“This competition is a great way to support students pursuing careers in STEM. I look forward to seeing the innovative new apps students within California’s 25th District create,” Garcia concluded.
