Felony Vandalism Suspect Arrested After Punching, Striking Multiple Vehicles In Santa Clarita

A felony vandalism suspect was arrested Tuesday evening after he allegedly punched several vehicles causing damage in Santa Clarita.

On Tuesday evening, deputies responded to Bouquet Canyon Road and Urbandale Avenue in Saugus regarding a vandalism call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“It was reported a male adult was hitting multiple vehicles,” Arriaga said.

Upon arrival, deputies detained a man matching the suspect description near the intersection of Urbandale Avenue and Bouquet Canyon Road, Arriaga said.

“During investigation, deputies learned while the victim was driving southbound on Bouquet Canyon Road and Urbandale Avenue, the suspect approached the victim’s vehicle, causing the victim to stop his vehicle in place, and yelled obscenities at the victim,” Arriaga said.

The suspect then began punching the victim’s vehicle several times, and hit the vehicle with an unknown object, causing damage to the vehicle, according to Sheriff’s officials.

The victim left the location in order to contact law enforcement personnel.

Moments later, a second victim informed deputies he was stopped at the same location when the suspect approached his vehicle and began screaming at him, according to Arriaga.

“The suspect then began punching the victim’s vehicle, causing damage,” Arriaga said.

The suspect proceeded to approach a third victim who notified deputies that he was parked at a gas station on the 27700 block of Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus when the suspect walked up to and began yelling obscenities at him, Arriaga said.

The suspect then approached the victim’s vehicle and punched it, causing damage to the vehicle, according to officials.

“Multiple victims positively identified the male detained as the suspect from the incidents,” Arriaga said.

Evan Sears was arrested for felony vandalism, Arriaga added.

Sears was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.
