‘Extreme Heat’ Alert Set To Expire In Santa Clarita As Temperatures Start To Cool

The Los Angeles County Health Officer announced that the “Extreme Heat” Alert is expected to expire in Santa Clarita Tuesday as temperatures are set to dip below triple digits.

Starting Tuesday through the end of the week, temperatures are expected to be below the triple-digit mark, resulting in the Extreme Heat Alert set to expire, according to officials.
Although temperatures in the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas are expected to be below 100 degrees, L.A. County officials are still urging the public to take safety precautions while being outside as Heat-Related illnesses become more common.
Public Health recommends precautions such as:

  • keeping hydrated
  • wearing sunscreen
  • avoiding strenuous outside activities
  • Staying in cool or air-conditioned locations

Residents who do not have access to air-conditioning are encouraged to take advantage of free public cooling centers, including all Santa Clarita Public Libraries.

In these high temperatures, officials have also highlighted the importance of heatstroke identification and response.

“Call 911 if you see these symptoms: high body temperature, vomiting, and pale and clammy skin,” according to Public Health officials.
