DUI Suspect Faces Child Endangerment Charges After Santa Clarita Crash With Child Passenger

A man was arrested on a slew of felonies, including child endangerment after he allegedly caused a Santa Clarita crash while under the influence and having a child passenger Saturday.

Around 11 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to San Francisquito Canyon Road and Copper Hill Drive in Saugus regarding a traffic collision, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Upon arrival, deputies contacted the occupants of the vehicle,” Arriaga said.

While speaking with one of the involved individuals, deputies identified symptoms similar to someone under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, Arriaga said.

“During investigation, deputies came to the conclusion that the male was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage,” Arriaga said.

Deputies also learned that a 10-year-old was in the suspect’s vehicle and sustained minor injuries, Arriaga said.

Raymond De la Rosa, 50, from Panorama City, was arrested on felony DUI, due to the driver causing injury to another individual while under the influence, and felony child endangerment, Arriaga said.

Delarosa was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail with bail set at $100,000, according to arrest records.
