A Valencia containment was set up by members of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Saturday after a burglary call led law enforcement to shut down Cinema Drive.
Around 8 a.m. Saturday, emergency responders received reports of a possible burglary on the 23300 block of Cinema Drive in Valencia, according to Deputy Madrano with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
“It is a containment, it is not considered a barricade at this point,” Madrano said. “It appears that two suspects are still outstanding.”
As of 8:45 a.m. Saturday, one suspect has reportedly been taken into custody, according to Sheriff’s officials.
Deputies shut down the entirety of Cinema Drive between Bouquet Canyon Road and Valencia Boulevard for the duration of the incident.
Members of the Los Angeles County Fire Department were also called to the scene to stage preparation for any injuries that might occur, according to Dispatch Supervisor Ed Pickett.
As of 9:00 a.m. Saturday, SCV Sheriff’s deputies were still handling the incident, residents are asked to avoid the area.
