Quest Diagnostics Evacuated After Valencia HazMat Incident

A Valencia business was evacuated Tuesday evening as a result of a hazardous materials incident, officials said.

At around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, a Hazardous Materials Response was requested to Quest Diagnostics on the 27000 block of Tourney Road in Valencia, according to Imy McBride, a dispatch supervisor for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“A liter of nitric acid was found mixed with an unknown substance,” said McBride.

As a precaution, the Quest Diagnostics building has been evacuated, according to McBride.

As of 8:30 p.m., no injuries have been reported, however an ambulance has been requested to respond to the incident as a precaution, according to Fire officials.
