L.A. County Department Of Public Health Launches Interactive Vaccine Tracker For COVID-19

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LADPH) announced their release of an Interactive Vaccine Tracker Friday that allows users to view areas with high and low coronavirus vaccination rates.

On Friday, an Interactive Vaccine Tracker was released by the LADPH that is set to allow users to quickly view areas with high and low coronavirus vaccination rates as well as interactive graphs of daily and cumulative vaccination numbers.

The program is one of the first trackers in the country with county-level data and is expected to allow users to better understand inequities over time and across the county, according to the LADPH.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to everyone mourning a loved one lost to COVID-19,” said Barbara Ferrer, Director of Public Health. “Vaccination appointments are available at many sites, and it is important for people ages 16 and older to get vaccinated as soon as they can. Since vaccine eligibility recently expanded to include teens 16 and 17, over 47,000 L.A. County teens 16 and 17 years old have been vaccinated, almost 19 percent of that population. This is a great start, and we are hopeful that over the coming weeks, increased collaboration with schools and Federally Qualified Health Centers will steadily increase that number.”

More than 6,600,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to people across Los Angeles County. Of these, 4,254,160 were first doses, including 274,212 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine before the pause in use last week, and 2,387,785 were second doses.

An additional 489 new COVID-19 cases and 27 deaths were reported by the LADPH across L.A. County on Friday.

This brings the county’s cumulative total to 1,230,786 positive cases of COVID-19 and 23,759 deaths since the onset of the pandemic, according to the LADPH officials.

Testing results are available for over 6,398,000 people, with a cumulative 18 percent of people testing positive, according to officials.

As of Thursday, there were 451 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in L.A. County, 24 percent of which are in the Intensive Care Unit.

Residents are encouraged to continue to prevent the spread of COVID-19, to not gather in crowds, stay home when sick, wear a face covering and maintain physical distance from others when outside of the home.

Non-compliance and dangerous conditions at businesses and worksites can be reported to Public Health anonymously by phone at 888-700-9995.
