From Santa Clarita To The Nordic Countries: Similarities And Differences

With around 15-20 hours of total travel time from Santa Clarita to the five Nordic countries, the change of continent isn’t the only big difference. From weather to landmarks, and history to culture, each of these destinations have their own significant attractions. Yet, there are some surprising similarities between these countries, which means that when you travel halfway across the globe, a piece of home can always be carried with you.

Finland

One day you’re in Santa Clarita, the next day you’re in Santa Claus village, one of Finland’s most popular attractions. While the name is shared, the contents of each location couldn’t be any further apart if you tried. Whereas Santa Clarita is full of greenery, dry land, and sand, Santa Claus village is full of forestry, icy floors, and snow. With a 20-degree difference in weather, it goes to show that Santa Clarita is more suited as a summer destination, but Finland, a winter one.

Denmark

Santa Clarita is most well-known for its Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park which is the best theme park in southern California. With over 100 rides, it’s certainly not short of a thrill or two. The same can be said for Tivoli Gardens in Denmark, though, with over two dozen rides, it doesn’t quite meet the size of Santa Clarita’s theme park.

This Copenhagen based theme park has a casino too; Tivoli Casino, and since Santa Clarita’s theme park isn’t too far from Los Angeles, which boasts an array of casinos, access to entertainment facilities is second to none in each of these locations, thus; the similarity comes into play. Though, the same can be said for each of these Nordic countries, since access to an online kasino and an array of popular slot games is easy via phone, from Finland to Denmark, and Sweden to Norway. With bonuses available with an internet connection, it goes to show that the internet really is bringing the world closer together.

Sweden

Musical Instruments

Swedish-born pop group, ABBA, took the world by storm in the 70s, and have continued to make a mark on the world to this day. Located in Stockholm resides the ABBA museum, which pays tribute to the pop group’s history and success. Yet, their legacy doesn’t start and end in Stockholm. In fact, the Canyon in Santa Clarita has an ABBA tribute band play on their premises on a regular basis, and this extends across to LA and other local theatre destinations.

Norway

Located closest to Santa Clarita out of the three aforementioned Nordic countries, Norway has links with Santa Clarita that are perhaps a little different from the landmark and cultural similarities we have witnessed above. Rather, Norway has close trade relations with California, with each party investing in one another. A lot of Norway’s business clients are even located in the US which we uncovered in an article, so the business relationship remains strong between the two, seemingly distant, countries.

So, while Santa Clarita is miles apart from the Nordic countries discussed, and does indeed have a host of differences, there are similarities, which says a lot about globalization and access to international resources and ideas.
