At Least One Suspect Detained After Canyon Country Stabbing

At least one person was detained in connection with a Canyon Country stabbing Wednesday evening.

Emergency responders received reports of an assault with a deadly weapon call on Kristine Court in Canyon Country, just east of Sand Canyon Road, according to officials from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

“I know they detained one,” said Sgt. Jason Elizondo with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

One victim was transported to the hospital as a result of the incident, according to Dispatcher Melanie Flores with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“We were dispatched for a stabbing and staged for Sheriff’s (deputies),” Flores said.

The condition of the victim was unknown as of Wednesday evening.
