A Santa Clarita realtor was arrested in Florida on Monday for two counts of sexual assault alleged to have occurred in Las Vegas in August of last year.
On Monday, March 8, Santa Clarita realtor Mike Bjorkman was arrested and taken into custody in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and is now awaiting extradition to Nevada in connection with an outstanding warrant for alleged sexual assault on Aug. 29, 2020.
Bjorkman is the head of Team Bjorkman Real Estate in Valencia, and has been involved in many local nonprofits and charity organizations.
An extradition hearing to determine Bjorkman’s transfer to Nevada is set to be heard on Wednesday, March 24, according to the Miami-Dade County Clerk’s Office in Florida.
No specific information regarding the charges were available to KHTS as of Thursday, pending further investigation, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officials.
Bjorkman has been arrested on two felony counts of sexual assault, notated under Nevada Law as 200.366.2b, which states that “if no substantial bodily harm to the victim results, by imprisonment in the state prison for life with the possibility of parole, with eligibility for parole beginning when a minimum of 10 years has been served.”
KHTS reached out to Bjorkman’s lawyer, David Chesnoff, a Las Vegas-based criminal defense attorney who has represented multiple celebrities, for comment, with no success.
Bjorkman’s case is set to have a hearing in the Las Vegas Justice Court on March 16, 2020.
