Man Arrested After Following Motorist, Leading Deputies On Brief Pursuit

A man was arrested early Wednesday morning after a brief pursuit, moments after he was allegedly following another motorist throughout Santa Clarita.

Around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, deputies were contacted by a concerned motorist on Soledad Canyon Road near Crossglade Avenue in Canyon Country regarding a silver sedan following him, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Deputies watched as the silver sedan exited the parking lot of the 18900 block of Soledad Canyon Road and began following another vehicle,” Arriaga said.

Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the suspect after they observed him making several driving violations, Arriaga said.

“The vehicle refused to stop and a brief pursuit was initiated,” Arriaga said.

A short period later, the vehicle stopped near Newhall Ranch and Golden Valley Roads.

Emmanuel Aguilera, 20, from Los Angeles was arrested on one misdemeanor count of evading law enforcement, Arriaga added.

Aguilera was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with bail set at $0, according to Arrest records.
