Canyon Country Man Arrested After Allegedly Physically Assaulting, Robbing Girlfriend

A Canyon Country man was arrested on a slew of felony charges Monday after he allegedly physically assaulted and robbed his girlfriend, and attempted to prevent her from calling law enforcement.

Around 7:45 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to a residence on the 23500 block of Magic Mountain Parkway in Valencia regarding a grand theft report, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Upon arrival, deputies learned during a verbal argument with her boyfriend, the victim was physically assaulted,” Arriaga said.

When the victim told the suspect she was going to call for law enforcement personnel, the suspect allegedly took her phone away,” according to Arriaga.

“As they continued to argue, the suspect took the victim’s jewelry from her person and left the location,” Arriaga said.

The suspect was later arrested, with the assistance of the Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Mission Division, according to officials.

Anthony Urguhart, 31, from Canyon Country, was arrested on felony charges of robbery, inflicting corporal injury on a spouse and preventing a person from notifying law enforcement of a crime, Arriaga added.

Urguhart was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with bail set at $100,300, according to Arrest records.
