The Shannon Fire broke out in Acton Thursday, prompting a response from firefighters.
UPDATE 10:25 a.m.: Forward progress of the Shannon Fire has been stopped at one quarter of an acre, according to Fire officials.
UPDATE 10 a.m.: The brush fire was sparked after a dumpster fire spread to the surrounding vegetation, according to Fire officials.
The brush fire, dubbed the Shannon Fire, was first reported to firefighters around 9:30 a.m. on Shannondale Road near Sierra Highway in Acton, just north of the 14 Freeway, said Leslie Lua spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“The fire is approximately at a half acre,” Lua said.
As of 9:45 a.m. crews are having issues accessing the blaze, according to Fire officials.
