SCV Water is inviting the community to attend their first free virtual gardening class of 2021 in Santa Clarita set for this weekend: “Proper Pruning.”
On Saturday January 9th at 9am, residents can learn how pruning your plants helps to improve growth, quality and beauty of your flowers and plants.
“Most trees and shrubs, especially those that flower, should be pruned in late winter or early spring before the onset of new growth,” SCV Water official said.

SCV Water hosts one virtual class per month on a Saturday morning starting at 9:00 a.m. Each Instructor still provides the same great content as in-person classes, but in a more condensed format. Each class focuses on the topic for approximately 45 minutes to one hour, followed by a question-and-answer session at the end.
“All presentations are recorded and available for viewing on our website one week after the live class. Participants will also be able to download the presentation.”
The scheduled instructor for the January 9th class is John Windsor. John is a Certified Arborist and a California Certified Nurseryman. For the last 21 years, he has been a Horticultural Advisor in the Santa Clarita Valley.
John has a teaching credential in Horticulture and teaches gardening and landscape classes at the local Adult School, and the Santa Clarita Department of Parks and Recreation.
