The areas currently under a PSPS are listed as having power restored at 3 p.m. on Saturday if current weather conditions persist.

“During these events, we will proactively turn off power in high fire risk areas to reduce the threat of wildfires,” reads a statement issued by SCE Wednesday. “Turning off our customers’ power is not something we take lightly, but PSPS events are one of the ways we can better ensure the safety of the public, our customers and our employees.”

Power officials say that they are monitoring conditions for PSPS outages starting at noon on Thanksgiving Day until 3 p.m. Friday, with potentially affected areas near the Santa Clarita Valley including the eastern portion of Canyon Country, Acton and Agua Dulce.

The implementations of the outages are a result of strong winds and low humidity within the Santa Clarita Valley, with sustained winds predicted to be as high as 30 mph, and gusts as high as 65 mph.

The Santa Clarita Valley is set to be under a Red Flag Warning from 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, until 10 p.m. the following Friday.
