Two Hospitalized After Crash On 14 Freeway Shuts Down Transition To 5 Freeway

Two people were taken to nearby hospital Saturday afternoon following a solo-vehicle crash on the southbound 14 Freeway, prompting officials to shut down the transition to the northbound I-5 Freeway.

At approximately 1:23 p.m. Saturday, officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department received reports of a traffic collision on the southbound 14 Freeway at the transition to the northbound 5 Freeway.

“It came in as a solo-vehicle crash,” said Supervisor Pickett with the department. “There are two patients with minor injuries.”

Initial reports from the California Highway Patrol indicated that a blue Toyota Camry had overturned and landed on its roof, blocking lanes on the transition bridge. Witnesses passing by the scene said that the car was “hanging over the edge of the transition.”

The exact cause of the crash was unknown as of Saturday afternoon.
